"What we are doing," says Angela Lattimore of Class Active, "is to overturn the existing model of lobbyist groups which is that it is normally only wealthy and powerful people or corporations that are heard loud and clear in government circles whilst the majority go unheard away from election time. We are establishing on online service in which the aim of lobbying government is proposed and, if it is supported by a sufficient number of subscriptions, which need be no more than the price of a cup of coffee, we will begin lobbying government on behalf of that group." Fellow director Neil Foura added "We have been lobbying government on behalf of narrow, self-serving interests for many years and some of these interests run counter to the interests of the wider population. Frankly, it will be a pleasure to lobby on behalf of the broader community." Full details of the scheme are expected to be unveiled in the near future.
