In the last issue we examined the ways in which, from the middle of the eighteenth century, European nations in particular concentrated on developing the means to produce enormous quantities of pollution. We saw how, during the nineteenth century, the Americans greatly accelerated this process. We saw also how, at a later date, this ongoing project was further enhanced to increase overall global temperatures. The western powers are, we concluded, well on the way to poisoning the rest of the world, reducing water supplies, and destroying the oriental half of the planet.
In this issue we aim to discuss another scheme that is being used to destabilise the enemies of the west and wreak destruction on the rest of the world: namely the origination and incubation of diseases. Ever since the European nations employed disease as a way of depopulating the Americas for the purposes of colonisation, they have understood the tactical value of both viral and bacteriological disease. Over time they have added to their arsenal: most of the world's biggest killers such as cancer barely existed a hundred and fifty years ago. Many minor diseases (including allergies, obesity, etc.) and, with the aid of modern technology, genetic disorders have been made much more epidemical during the course of the last century. As would be expected, using the favoured capitalist model, large pharmaceutical companies and health care providers have benefitted to an incalculable degree from these 'advances'. The next time you get a cold, you will know who to thank.
Next week:-How the west has made a range of consumer items easier to lose so as to increase profit margins.
